Tools for Inclusive YOU.TH

Tools for Inclusive YOU.TH

This project aligns with

Tools for Inclusive YOU.TH

This project aligns with the Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027), focusing on enhancing non-formal education by integrating theater methodologies to promote inclusivity, innovation, and impactful youth engagement.

The COVID-19 crisis shed light on the importance of digital education for the digital transformation that Europe, European society, and European organisations need. In particular, it emphasised the increased need to harness the potential of digital technologies for education and to develop digital skills for all, youth workers included. In line with this need and the strategic priorities of the Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027), this project aims to support this endeavour to engage the partner organisations and youth workers in the path to digital transformation also of the non-formal education.

The project promotes and supports and answers the needs of the partners and their target groups about:

  • the use of non formal and informal learning combined with theatre methodologies and practices for inclusion in their activities with young people;
  • cooperation with other European organisations, quality, inclusion, creativity and innovation, through a more agile development of digital techniques and theatre practices to foster the inclusion of all youngsters.

The research made by our project groups has shown that different social theatre techniques are used to address current issues such as the integration of immigrants, violence, bullying, drug addiction, abandonment of suburbs, etc. Theatre and performing arts are used as tool for dialogue, cultural encounters and exchanges, to create links and empathy between people and groups with different feelings and behaviour, for experimenting with shared and participatory proposals that are real answers and solutions to the problems encountered by people, groups and communities.

For example in Spain, in the tradition of Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed and Latin American Community Theatre, they use the term Teatro Social as the political theatre par excellence, based on the action of citizens, groups and communities as a creative methodology for the transformation of society, whether at an educational, inclusive, therapeutic, motivational, awareness-raising, recreational, artistic or creative level. Theatre can therefore be put at the service of youth workers, without assuming that they become actors or theatre specialists, but that they can use it as a proper means of working on youth inclusion.

Transnational Project Meetings

The Consortium convened on four occasions at various partner locations throughout the Project's Lifetime!

Kick-off Meeting

First Kick-off meeting took place in Morfasso, Italy from 17 - 18 October 2022.

Second Meeting

The second Meeting took place in Skopje, North Macedonia between 14 - 15 March 2023.

Learning Teaching Traning Activity

Training of Youth Workers

The Training Course took place in Morfasso, Italy from 4-10 May 2023

There will be 28 youth workers coming from the partner organizations (Italy, Spain, Greece and North Macedonia), their close associated partners and main local stakeholders and organisations to ensure diffusion and early transfer of the results prepared.

The learning program will be conceived to be adaptable to the learning needs of the group, with no prejudice to the overall quality.

Self-reflection and interaction with other participants and trainers will be the dimension in which trainers will work to improve, empower and expand knowledge and competences in inclusion, theatre, NFE, regular and digital youth work.

  • Efforts to promote awareness and competence in inclusion, theater methodologies, non-formal education, and digital youth work are central to our mission;
  • Present the opportunities and tools to implement youth work in a digital environment;
  • Assess the R1 and R2 and use them as a base for the training
  • Involve them in the assessment, production, finalization and dissemination of results;
  • Get ready for the pilot with youngsters and prepare youth workers to use results;
  • Develop professional competences and increase their efficiency
  • Improve the quality of youth work;
  • Introduce the reflection as a tool (based on the key competences in the Youthpass) of learning;
  • Connect youth workers and create the community R3.

Different working methods will be applied during the Training, like as interactive workshops, presentations, role plays, world-café, living- library, concentrating on the active involvement of participants.

Methodology and tools are chosen in order to meet the needs and objectives of the project. The methodology is based on non-formal education methods, on developing and challenging individuals and groups through a creative stimulation that connects objectives and contents with personal experiences. The participants are engaged intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically in the training.

Learning process is based on interaction among participants and the trainer.

This Training Course serves to train the Youth Workers, involving them in all the phases of the project (production, implementation, pilot, evaluation, promotion) and supporting them in a path of growth and development of competences and knowledge. Since we aim to create effective and efficient results, in order to foster the achievement of our objective to guide youth workers on a growth and innovation process by providing them with knowledge and competences on inclusion, theatre and digital youth work, leading to a combination of all these spheres of action, we consider the implementation of this training indispensable.

This will also contribute to create an international community of youth workers who will support each other by exchanging experiences, results and good practices ensuring the wide exploitation and sustainability of results after the end of the funded project period.

Training for youth workers aims to provide them with the knowledge and competences about inclusive approaches and principles, theatre methodologies and practices, digital youth work and NFE to implement inclusive activities applying methodologies and practices used mostly in the field of theatre, which can be implemented also in digital youth work.

This Training Course also aims to assess and validate the efficiency, clarity, exhaustiveness and usability of the Result 1 and Result 2, to connect youth workers from different realities and countries setting up the community (Result 3) and get the youth workers ready to deliver the local piloting.

Aiming of increasing awareness on the necessary
knowledge, skills and competences contributing to efficient use of
theater methodologies and practices to foster inclusion of youngsters in
regular or digital youth work.

You.TH Result One (1)

Manual for Youth Workers

The past is rock. Climb to understand the future!

This Manual is designed to support Youth Workers providing a background knowledge of methodologies and practices used mostly in the field of theater, with the aim to produce inclusive Non-Formal Education (NFE) activities. When addressing inclusion, it is important to know what to take into consideration to create effective inclusive activities in face-to-face activities and also in digital youth work. We
strongly believe that theater can be put at the service of youth workers to foster inclusion.

This Manual has been produced within YOU.TH. project. “Tools for inclusive YOU.TH. (YOUth workers and Theater workers in synergy). A Real-digital trajectory” is an Erasmus+ KA220 Cooperation Partnership in the field of youth.

Our Manual has the aim of increasing awareness on the necessary knowledge, skills and competences contributing to efficient use of theater methodologies and practices to foster inclusion of youngsters in regular or digital youth work.
